A Daughter Returns: Helo Girl Silk Story Scarf, Wearable Art

Sale Price:$105.00 Original Price:$175.00
sale

7 remaining in edition.

This limited edition, silk twill scarf, is a photomontage of a scrapbook photo of my childhood and helicopter blades from a photograph taken during the Vietnam War. The photo of the little girl with the hula hoop was taken right after my father returned from his first tour in Vietnam in 1957. The helicopter image is circa 1967 during my father's second tour there, in which he was KIA in a helicopter crash. We circle and spin through life innocent of unintended consequences that will shape us all. I feel that if we don't learn from our history, war and otherwise, we are forever doomed to repeat it.

This is a limited edition of 15, silk twill scarf.

Size is approximately 26 x 52 inches.

Due to the handcrafted process and inherent nature of the materials used, slight variations in color might be visible from the listed photos. A "story card" accompanies each scarf.
