In the Jade Emperor Pagoda in Saigon is a room presided over by Kim Hoa, the protector of all mothers and children. There are 12 women, each holding babies, who represent one year of the 12-year Chinese calendar. Women and couples wanting children come and pray in this room, lighting joss sticks, and lightly touching each of the women.
